"A course subject by Foundation in Design 2012, Taylors University Lakeside Campus."

So after doing some sketches, we had a class where we experimented our final monogram to test wether it works or not. I stenciled the monogram I printed according to various sizes and started carving. AND IT worked! Was so happy and I thought, this monogram is so cute, it would be suitable for baby clothing. So stay tuned for more. Take care.

Good morning everyone! I've received the latest assignment which we have to create our very own monogram! So I've been researching about monograms and the elements to achieve the criteria. Here are my samples and sketches of my monogram. My initials are CY, so it's kind of difficult for me.

Among 10 sketches, I chose number 1, 2 & 9 as I did my survey to ask people around & which monogram they prefer. So I have to choose my final monogram to be stenciled and printed on fabric etc.

More updates coming soon. Take care.

This is our finale for our project, make own movie poster. My group is doing a Steampunk genre. The title is Project Steampunk: The Beginning.

Story plot: After the apocalypse of humanity, humans decided to rebuild the world with Steampunk elements. While rebuilding, the humans found an underground city filled with fantasy creatures such as centaurs, unicorns, fairies and more. They abused them and make them work as slaves to rebuild the city. The creatures couldn't handle the torture, so they end up declaring the war to have their rights.

Basically, we're planning to have a sequel towards this "make own" movie, that is why we put 'The Beginning' as part of the title. My group mate, Jowin finalized the characters and did the Photoshop work. My other group mate, Victoria was handling the typography and Photoshop work as well. I was handling the background, colours, and painting the characters. We had fun doing it. The time consumed was shockingly little as we play hard, work hard. And it turned out satisfying. We hope you liked it. Take care.

After a few days of research and brainstorming, we named our movie
Project Steampunk; The Beginning.

We had a few meetings to discuss and brainstorm our ideas and storyline for the movie and design the poster.

This is just a brief of the storyline. We deciding to have a little mix of fantasy and war. But the main genre, Steampunk will still be there.

These are the creatures we chose for the fantasy side. We divided creatures from air, land & water.

Will update about characters designs and composition of the poster. So stay tuned.

Hello there, we received a group project which is creating our make-own movie poster with elements of design. So me and my groupmates, Victoria & Jowin decided to choose a genre which is Steampunk because we wan't to challenge ourselves into a more creative and different field.

Our rough ideas on what to do for our poster.

Short tutorial with our lecturer, Miss Lisa :)

These expanded squares define my fear based on its style, proportion and pattern as well. Firstly, I am afraid of aquatic animals for example fishes, that is why i cut out fishes in proportional manner. As well as the seaweeds. I want the square to have the organic elements & the other one inorganic as well. For the next pattern square, I dislike circuit, it defines me as disliking IT, physics, complexity and so on. The pattern is really rigid and geometric at the same time I give it some fluidity as the circuit doesn't stop. The placement of the 4 squares are 2 at the top and 2 at the bottom vertically. So the theme for these expanded squares are fear. Hope you liked it. Take care.

For my expanded square, I wan't to add a little mix of organic and inorganic elements. I've been researching patterns, style, shape, colours and more. Here are the examples of organic elements

These are my 4 favourite organic forms which is the leaf, the flower, the round shape & the sun. But my favourite choice would be the sun because I like the wriggly pattern and composition. So I'm going to modify this idea in my own expanded squares. Here are the inorganic elements;

Inorganic elements are normally rigid, straight and has an accurate proportion. It also has the futuristic elements which attracts me.

Last Friday, we had a task to experiment and designed our own expanded square. And this was my outcome. I would say my style and pattern was really random but it gives fluidity and lots of movement, so I really want to experiment and try it.

Will update more research about my kind of expanded square. Stay tuned. Take care.
