Enjoyed doing it! Proud of my work and my teammates as well.
Group batik theme! Loved the colour theme!
The Mad Hatter Rabbit- Chiyan
The collar & top part of the dress- Victoria
The skirt- Carmen
The leg/ Cheshire cat- Jowin
When we combined our paintings, it created a body with the head of the rabbit, the dress to the leg which is the Cheshire cat! We arranged it vertically because we wanted to try something different. I was proud of our work and I had a great experience because this was the first time I made a batik :)

My group did "Alice in the Wonderland Horror Tea Party". My teammates, Jowin Foo, Victoria Chew & Carmen Loh decided it because it's interesting, graphic, and different. I did the "Mad Hatter & The Rabbit" batik.
I did a sketch to finalize my design. And I drew on the cloth. It was difficult to be honest.
After that, I used the candle wax to draw the outlines. It took alot of patience and control. I messed up a bit, but it turned out fine after all.
Started painting! I enjoyed this the most.
And my finale! I was satisfied :)

On the 27th November 2012, we had a trip to KL for batik making. It was for our final group project & we went with the March Intake 2012. When we arrived, we had a tutorial by the batik makers and seriously, we were amazed!
Drawn with candle wax, it was perfection.
Examples of the batiks.
More beautiful batik painting.
These are the colours for painting. There were so many choices!
More updates soon, stay tuned.

Hello! On the 9th November 2012, we had an outdoor class activity where we "paint to music" live beside Taylor's Lakeside. Each of us had 2 canvases and we paint to classical music & pop music. We painted what we feel and all of us used different kinds of materials. It was fun and tiring at the same time.
Materials I used for painting. Comb, spray paint, mural paint, empty disc and arcrylic paint.
My finale! Paint to classical music (left) & paint to pop music (right)
For the classical painting, I used a soft colour at the background because the music started really soft and relaxing and slowly the music got intense, so I splashed vibrant colours with a stick.
As for the pop painting, I started off by spraying with warm colours such as red, yellow, gold and silver. Then I put the different colours of arcrylic paint on the surface of the disc and twist it on the canvas. It gave an urban feeling and modernism.
Here are the artworks of my classmates! I loved it! :)

Hello! We had another mood board assignment but this time, our lecturer Ms. Lisa chose the theme for us! I was chosen to do a "Masquerade dining ball" theme. During the submission, we were all told to display our mood boards without writing our name. Then, Ms. Lisa chose 3 winners for the mood boards. Sadly, I didn't win but I was happy with my work anyway.
I did a gothic victorian theme because I liked the theme very much and it was suitable for the masquerade ball. I chose a very vintage, dark colour palette with a bright colour of chandelier. I also chose different styles of wallpapers and furnitures. I didn't won because it wasn't neat enough and I didn't stick and cut them properly. I learnt my mistakes and will do better next time.
I had a lot of fun during the assignment, I enjoyed doing mood boards and I learnt a lot from it. Hopefully I will received more assignments like this in future.

So I received another assignment, creating our very own mood board. It is based on our interest such as graphic design, interior, fashion & many more. So I've chosen graphic and decided to create a photobook mood board. Here are some briefs and sketches about my idea. Miss Lisa decided that the cityline should be sketched and not make it realistic. Well, an experiment tells the conclusion, so we'll see. More updates coming soon. Tc. Labels: 2D, art, assignment, design, doodle, illustration, mood board | |
